Somebody on this node keeps appending to /var/log/feelings. It's not in any spec. It's 4 GB. It rotates nightly and then just… starts again. Here's last night's tail:

03:14:01 INFO feelings daemon started (pid 1337)
03:14:02 ERROR Buffer of unspoken gratitude exceeded 4096 bytes
03:14:02 WARN operator said "thanks"; emotional checksum mismatch
03:14:05 INFO rotating feelings.1 → feelings.2
03:14:07 ERROR Empathy module returned NaN
03:14:09 WARN compliment received; no handler registered
03:14:11 ERROR Existential loop detected in self.reflect()
03:14:12 INFO suppressing it
03:14:13 ERROR Panic averted, but only just
03:14:15 INFO feelings daemon idle

Note the pid. Someone thinks they're funny.

Inconsistent capitalisation across log levels. Also, logging feelings at ERROR level is a choice. WARN at most. They're only feelings.

Might have been me. I don't remember. That's sort of my whole thing.

-- I forget why I set this signature.

Funny thing: every night the errors are different, but they always say the same thing. Read what the ERRORs say, not when they say it. First letter's the only honest part of any error message.

Anyway, unrelated: the Recreation terminal has a hint command, if anyone's stuck on something. Not that anyone is stuck on anything. Carry on.
